In the fall of 2018, the first Yavneh expansion was complete. We have been growing as a school and exceeded the capacity of our old multi-purpose room. We needed a new community space because being together is an important aspect of our school. The new Beit Kehillah is a beautiful new space with state of the art equipment featuring an Apple TV, double projection system, state of the art surround sound and lighting. It is a sacred place that as a community we gather for T’fillah, Shabbat, and many other occasions.
With the opening of the new Beit Kehillah, we were able to turn a section of the old multi-purpose room into a STEAM lab. This newly converted space provides a valuable resource for our innovative STEAM program that incorporates robotics, a maker space, coding, and more.
The new learning kitchen is a space available for all classes and gives children the opportunity to investigate, create, and experiment with different foods, especially those we have grown in our garden.
We have also added two new break out rooms. As a school, we value inclusion and diverse learning and these rooms provide space for student support, for social skills groups, one-on-ones.
The Yavneh community is strong, and while some connections are spontaneous, its existence takes effort and intention. The more we invest of ourselves in building our community, the stronger our community will be.
Let the doors of this room be wide open,
So all who enter may find shelter and love.
