Friday October 14th was a fantastic day for our whole community to wrap up the Tishrei Holiday season! We started the morning with hakafot and we welcomed our community Rabbis – Josh Berkenwald (Sinai) Nathan Roller (Beth David) and Nico Socolovsky (Shir Hadash) to join and lead the festivities with us. Our Rabbis helped unroll the whole Torah and took us on tour, and chanted the last few paragraphs, honoring the parents and grandparents in our community. Then all of our students were honored by doing the blessing for Bereisheet, which was chanted by our Kitah Chet – 8th Grade Class.
The festivities continued in the afternoon in the sukkah, where we waved lulav and etrog and had a whole school Shabbat outside, with all of the singing, dancing, and celebration that a Yavneh Shabbat brings!
Many thanks again to our community Rabbis and to Morah Aviva for helping to lead Torah service and Kabbalat Shabbat in the Sukkah.
