In Yavneh News

On October 27, 2024, we will be hosting an evening of hope for the release of the hostages. It will be a musical evening with songs of hope, and we will have two testimonies:

  1. Naama Levy is an Israeli soldier serving in the Israel Defence Forces (IDF). On the morning of 7 October 2023, during the Hamas attack on Israel, she was abducted from the IDF surveillance base at Nahal Oz near the Gaza–Israel barrier.

Later that day, Hamas released footage on social media showing Levy in the Gaza Strip, hands tied behind her back, as armed militants dragged her from the trunk of a Jeep and forced her inside the vehicle.

Efrat Shachar, Naama’s family member, and a member of our community, will tell us her story.

  1. Nirim was one of the Israeli villages attacked by Hamas forces in the 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel. At least five people were killed in the attack and many were injured. Some members of the kibbutz were kidnapped to Gaza. About seven hours after the forces entered the kibbutz, IDF soldiers killed nine Hamas fighters that were still there.

Ella Bargil, our Shinshinit who is in her year of service at Yavneh Day School, lives in Kibbutz Nirim. She will tell us the story of her experiences on October 7th in Nirim.

We will sing songs of hope for the hostages to return home to their families. This will take place in a private home, address to be disclosed when you RSVP.
