This past Monday, February 24, we were thrilled to host famed Israeli artist Hanoch Piven, an award-winning illustrator, author, and creative educator. He is the author of several children’s books, including the beloved PJ Library selection Dream Big, Laugh Often.
Hanoch inspired our community with his playful approach to creative expression. He facilitated multiple sessions for all students, from Kindergarten through Middle School during the school day. After school, our staff was treated to their own teacher’s workshop.
In the evening, Hanoch shared his creative journey and ran an adult workshop for our wider community. It was incredible to observe every member of our community create a self-portrait using a wide variety of everyday objects and recycled materials. It was such an important day of learning and creating together, and we welcome you to walk the halls of Yavneh to see the amazing results of this wonderful day of artistic creation!
