Field trips offer students invaluable opportunities to engage with their learning in real-world settings. Beyond the classroom, these experiences spark curiosity and deepen understanding.
In the past week, our middle-school students have participated in two impactful field trips. On Friday, Kitah Vav and Kitah Zayin visited the Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum in San Jose, where they explored Ancient Egyptian history firsthand. The experience reinforced their classroom studies with immersive exhibits and artifacts.
On Monday, the 7th grade Mock Trial at the Hall of Justice brought literature and law to life. Students stepped into a real courtroom to argue a case inspired by The Outsiders. Students deepened their comprehension of the novel’s complex characters while developing critical thinking and persuasive speaking skills.
“It was so fun getting into character,” said Lea. “All of the lawyers and witnesses showed so much passion!”
“Getting to cross-examine a witness was definitely the highlight of the trial for me,” said Eva.
“It was a one-of-a-kind experience for students and for all of the parents who came,” said Nitzan. “It taught us that we can achieve anything we set out minds to– and to be proud of the hard work we put in.”
