I am blown away by our Kitah Gimel Students who, for weeks, have been working hard on their milestone performance. Milestones are so much more than the content they learn about Judaism. Milestones are at the core of what we believe as a school: relevance. Our students worked in multiple subject areas and completely immersed themselves as they prepared to receive their Tanakim.
Morah Judy and Morah Julie helped them develop as artists, resulting in a wall-sized mural used as a backdrop for the performance.
Morah Vanina integrated their STEAM curriculum by exploring sound waves and building instruments used in the introduction of the event.
Morah Rinat & Ms. Kohn worked with the students to write, practice, learn, and perform texts in Hebrew and in English.
As they worked on these skills, they developed grit, stamina, and oral fluency to help them share, which will develop their confidence as performers and readers. My favorite part of the milestone this year for Kitah Gimel is that the performance was very much a true representation of the personality of the class. It was smart, humorous, creative, and authentically them. Authentic learning experiences which culminate with an authentic audience (thank you for joining us families!) have a hugely positive impact on student growth.
